SAYINGS BY HAZRAT USMAN (R.A)

EARLY LIFE:

 Hazrat  Usman(R.A)  was  born  in  573 A.C  in Mecca. He  belonged  to  a  noble  family  of  Quraish.  He  was from  the   ‘Ummaya’  family  of  Quraish,  which  was  a well  reputed  and  honorable   family  of  Mecca  during  the  pre-ISLAM  days.  His  father  name  was  ‘Afan Bin Abul’  so  Hzrat Usman(R.A)  was  commonly known  as  “USMAN IBN AFFAN”.  He  was  one  of   the known  person  who  knew  reading  and  writing.  He  did the  business  of  clothes.

 

ACCEPTANCE OF ISLAM:

 When  the  Holy Prophet(s.a.w.w)  started preaching  of  ISLAM,  he  accepted  ‘ISLAM’  in  early days.  When  Abu Bakr(R.A)  preached, he  accepted ‘ISLAM’.  People  of  Quraish  started  hating  him. He  got married  to  Ruqayya(R.A)  one  of  the  daughter  of  ‘Hazrat Muhammad(S.A.W.W)’.

 

AL-GHANI:
 On  various  occasions, he  spent  a  great  portion  of  his  wealth  for  then  welfare  of  Muslims, for  charity and  for  preparing  the  Muslims  Armies. Once Usman(R.A)  bought  a  well  named  “BIR-I-RUMAH” from  a  Jew  against  twenty  thousand  Dirhams  for  free  use  of  Muslims.  That  was  the  first  trust  made  in  the  history  of  ‘ISLAM’.  That  is  why  he  came  to  be known  as  “AL GHANI”.

 

WRITER OF QURANIC REVELATIONS:

Hazrat  Usman(R.A)  had  a  beautiful  hand  writing  and  also  had  a  great  command   over  Arabic language.  Due  to  this   “HOLY PROPHET(S.A.W.W)” appointed  Him  as  one  of  the  noble  scribes   of  Holy Revelations.

 

AS A THIRD KHALIFA OF ISLAM:

  After  the  death  of  second  khalifa  Hzrat Umar(R.A), Hazrat Usman(R.A)  selected  the  third khalifa  of  Muslims.

 

ASSEMBLAGE OF THE COMPLETE HOLY QURAN:

 Hazrat  Usman(R.A) noticed  differences  in  the recitation  of  Holy Quran, so  he  directed Hazrat Zaid Bin sabit(R.A) to make  multiple  copies  of  the  same  quran he  had  written  in  the  time  of
Hazrat Abu Bakr(R.A)  to  help  save  the Quranic  text  from  any possible  editions  and  bring  people  to  a  common  way of  recital  process. For  this, he  is  known  as
“JAMI’UL QURAN” meaning
“the compiler of quran”.

 

  • DEATH:
     Hazrat Usman(R.A)   faced   a  lot  of  resistance  by so  called  Muslims.  One  day  when  He  was  reciting  the  Holy  book of   “ALLAH”, he  was   brutally  martyred, He  was  assassinated  on  Friday, 17th  of Dhul Hijjah,35 A.H, at  the  age  of  84. He  was  great  so  we  should follow

      his  sayings.

  • “Har Nabi Ka Dost Hota Hai Or Mere Jannat Ky Dost Usman Ghani (R.A) Hain”.(Ibn e Majha)

  • “Lavishness amounts to the thanklessness to God for His gifts”. USMAN R.A

  • “The highest degree of trust is that you [will] always regard yourself in the presence of God” USMAN R.A

  • “Attain wisdom from the story of the dead”. USMAN R.A

  • “One should not glad at the acquisition of wealth nor should be feeling aggrieved at its loss”. USMAN R.A

  • “He who is fond of delicious food, let him bear in mind that ultimately he is to be food for weasel”. USMAN R.A

  • “On testing people, I have found some of them more venomous than venomous animals”. USMAN R.A

  • “Your charity is not accepted until you believe, “I need award more than the beggar needs the money”. USMAN R.A

  • “It is so easy to dive into a battle but too hard to come out of it”. USMAN R.A

  • “Silence is an embellishment for the wise and a veil for the ignorance”.
